Set Your DVRs: DUW Donates Clothing for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition January 13 Show

For the largest project that Extreme Makeover: Home Edition has ever tackled, building seven homes in seven days, the ABC hit TV show, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition turned to us for help with the families’ clothing needs. For the fourth time in two years, we will contribute to the show by providing over $14,500 in new clothing for families dealing with the aftermath of the tornados that devastated Joplin, MO.

The show will air January 13, 2012. “We are delighted to have the opportunity to help victims of this tragedy realize the benefits of this terrific show,” said Bob Bryan, Executive Director of Dignity U Wear. “We’re very proud to have worked with the dynamic team from Extreme Makeover: Home Edition numerous times in the past. It’s gratifying to work with such a high profile TV show that mobilizes so many volunteers and sponsors to help deserving families.”

“Every nail, every stick of wood, every piece of furniture is donated. We recognize and appreciate community, where love and goodness is generated and contagious to the 20 million Americans who watch the show every week and then pay-it forward in their own neighborhoods. It just goes to show, when you ask people for help, companies like Dignity U Wear make the impossible possible. We can not thank them enough!!!” said Diane Korman, Senior Producer.

This time Dignity U Wear is providing basics such as pants, shirts, light jackets, socks and underwear. “It’s great to work with the show because it allows us to spotlight what Dignity does for hundreds of nonprofit organizations, schools and other institutions around the country—and that’s to help people in need get back on their feet by providing them with brand new clothes,” said Genelle Thomas, Vice President of External Affairs. “We know how transformative new clothing can be. Kids feel better about going to school and adults often become more confident and regain their self-respect. When you feel good about yourself, you have a much better chance to succeed. It’s a privilege to help parents, families and organizations accomplish this.”

The Emmy award-winning reality program “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” now in its 9th season, is produced by Endemol USA, a division of Endemol Holding. It’s executive-produced by Brady Connell and George Verschoor. David Goldberg is Chairman, Endemol North America. The show airs Sundays from 8:00-9:00 p.m., EST on ABC.
