Fabulous-Furs recently made a generous donation of beautiful, warm faux fur coats to Dignity U Wear.  We worked with The York Street Project and Kenmare High School in Jersey City, New Jersey to get the coats to female students who needed them most.

This letter was written by one of the recipients:

“Hi. My Name is Xiomara L. I am writing you this letter to say thank you for the beautiful and warm coats and other necessities you provide for us above the education I am receiving here at Kenmare. I don’t have any other way to show my gratitude for what the staff of Kenmare does for me and for my children. Whatever I need, you are there. May God bless you all and again I thank you, thank you, thank you all so very much.”

Fabulous-Furs takes great pride in giving back. Each year they assist hundreds of non-profits in their fund-raising efforts, not only by making donations but by hosting fund-raising events in their Covington, Kentucky showroom. They also donate hundreds of coats to regional schools each year. On a national level, they are delighted to partner with Dignity U Wear. Dignity U Wear helps Fabulous-Furs work on a broader scale as they fulfill their 2009 pledge to donate 800 brand new coats to adults and children in colder USA cities.

About The York Street Project
The mission of York Street Project is to weave innovative programs that shelter, feed, educate and promote the healing and independence of persons in need, especially women and their children. This mission is acted out in four interrelated and coordinated yet separate programs including Kenmare High School, as well as St. Joseph’s Home, The Nurturing Place, and St. Mary’s Residence.  Kenmare is a fully accredited alternative high school providing women aged 17-35 who dropped out of the public or private school system with a second chance to earn a diploma. Additionally, they furnish the counseling, social services, and childcare support that helps the students take the next step in their journey toward independence.
