image003Dignity U Wear is pleased to announce over $24,000 in matching gifts in response to the Back to School Challenge Grant opportunity given by leading IT services company Nagarro and an Anonymous Donor. Total dollars raised exceeds $46,500 to fund Dignity U Wear’s efforts to procure, inventory and distribute brand new clothing to underserved students across the country.

We are extraordinarily grateful to Nagarro and our Anonymous Donor for their lead gifts, The CW17 for producing a PSA to promote our cause and everyone who donated to the campaign including 100% participation from our Board of Directors and staff.

In 2015, Dignity U Wear provided brand new school attire to nearly 50,000 children – one-third of all the individuals we served last year. Clothing is distributed through school district clothing closets and nonprofit agencies across the country.  Since our founding, over $70 million in brand new clothing has been distributed to children living at or below the poverty line. With nearly half of all school-age children qualifying for free and reduced lunch programs, Dignity U Wear’s goal is to remove barriers to education by ensuring students have age and size appropriate clothing.

Learning with Dignity, our back to school initiative is two fold – providing a selection of clothing styles and sizes  for back to school distribution by our child-serving partner agencies as well as awareness raising and fundraising to support the procurement, inventorying and distribution of the school appropriate attire. Please consider a donation today to support this important initiative. A gift of $10 makes sure a child has two outfits and basics to start the school year; $20 provides a second set our outfits and coat when the weather turns cold.
