 Stein Mart, a national retailer also based in Jacksonville, and Dignity U Wear established a very unique partnership in 2003. It allows Dignity U Wear to extend support across the country to all the communities Stein Mart serves.
Each Stein Mart store raises money for Dignity U Wear and identifies a local nonprofit in their market to receive the new clothing. Since the partnership began, Stein Mart associates at the company’s 280 stores have raised over $2.3 million dollars for Dignity U Wear! Their communities, in turn, have received brand new clothing totaling over 1.2 million pieces, valued at over $20.6 million, to provide to over 135,000 men, women and children in need. Thanks to their support, Dignity U Wear has been able to distribute more than 4.1 million pieces of clothing, valued at $70 million, to over 300,000 people since 2000.
This remarkable relationship is largely responsible for allowing Dignity U Wear to avoid dependence on local, state or federal funding. Along with the support we receive from Stein Mart, our funding comes from private individual and corporate donors as well as private foundations.
